Methanol, as one of the significant green fuel candidates for combustion engines, can be produced from Power to X and biomass production. However, compression ignition (CI) pure methanol in a engine is impractical due its low cetane rating. The strategy has gained little attention past, but possible if premixed with additive (ignition improver). In order optimize understand additivated combustion, phenomenological spray/packet model developed this work. used calibrate an Arrhenius-type delay equation CI using methanol, resulting calibrated parameter 2.14. procedure involves compare modeled experimental rate profiles that are derived small marine by burning 3.5 % up 7.5 kg/kg additive. present work finds diesel methodology good accuracy, simulate engine. is, furthermore, able indicate intermediate variables such packet speeds, air mass, droplet air/fuel equivalence ratio, temperature different packets combustion.
